President Muhammadu Buhari has hailed the release of the abducted school children from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.
President Buhari described the development as a “huge relief to the family of the abducted children, the entire country and the international community” at large.
“I welcome the release of the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara. This is a huge relief to the entire country and the international community. The entire country is grateful to Governor Aminu Masari, the Intelligence Agencies, the Military and the Police Force” a personal message on the President Muhammadu Buhari’s verified Twitter handle reads.
Also, a statement signed by President Buhari’s spokesman Garba Shehu congratulated the Kaduna State governor for the efforts and collaboration that led to the release of the schoolboys.
President Buhari specifically cited what he called the “spirit of partnership and the collaborative efforts of the government of Katsina, Zamfara, and military leading to the release and commended the nation’s intelligence agencies, the military, and police force for providing the environment for the safe release of the hostages.”
“The Governor (Masari) and the army worked extremely hard. As soon as I got the information I congratulated them. The Armed Forces know their job. They have been well trained and properly motivated” the statement read.
Recall that after six days in captivity, the about 340 schoolboys abducted from their school at Government Science Secondary School, Kankara were released.
The agreement was secured through a private intermediary. Already the children are being conveyed to Katsina state capital.
