Buhari, Ortom mourn Benue Ex-MILAD, Kontagora

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom have condoled with the family of the former military administrator of Benue State, Col. Aminu Isa Kontagora.

Kontagora, 65 passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He served as the Military Administrator in Benue State between 1996 and 1998.

Reacting to the news, Buhari through his aide, Bashir Ahmad, urged the family and friends of the deceased to accept the loss.

“President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with family of Col. Aminu Isa Kontagora, former Military Administrator of Benue and Kano States, urging family, friends, and associates to accept the will of God, and find solace in Kontogora’s good works,” Ahmad shared on Twitter.

Recall that Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, ordered flags in the state to be flown at half-mast in honour of Kontagora.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Terver Akase, also said the Governor declared Tuesday a work-free day to honour the former military administrator.

“Governor Samuel Ortom has declared Tuesday, 12th January 2021 as work-free day and urged that flags be flown at half-mast in honour of the deceased.

Governor Ortom in his tribute this morning, described the death of Colonel Kontagora as a great loss to Nigeria and Benue State, in particular, stressing that his footprints in the state have remained indelible” he said.
