The Police Command in Delta has deployed 2,153 police personnel to provide security during the Eid-el-kabir festival in the state.
The Commissioner of Police (CP), Delta Command, Mr Ari Ali, said this in a statement made available to Newsmen on Monday in Warri.
The CP said the personnel, amongst whom were special constabularies, would be deployed to strategic locations including Muslim praying grounds across the state.
He warned cultists and other mischief makers to steer clear, stressing that the command would deal decisively with anyone caught disrupting public peace in the state.
“All Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) should intensify raid of criminal hideouts and black spots within the command,” he stated.
He charged the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of operation, Area Commanders, DPOs, Tactical Operation Officers and all Heads of Departments of the Command to carry out the order.
He said they should leave no stone unturned towards ensuring thorough supervision of personnel deployed for the achieve peace and tranquility throughout the state during and after the celebrations.
While assuring Muslims in the state of adequate security and free-flow of traffic, he wished them happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
