More PDP Guber Aspirants Emerge In Borno, Zamfara, Plateau As Shehu Sani Loses In Kaduna

More winners have emerged in the Peoples Democratic Guber Primary Elections held across the country.

A former chairman of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang won the PDP governorship primary ticket of the State.

Caleb polled 252 votes to defeat 13 other aspirants.

Earlier, Dr Timothy Golu, Chief Latep Dabang, Pastor Vincent Nanle and Mr Jack Yakubu Pam withdrew from the contest out of the 18 aspirants.

The result was declared by the chairman of the panel, Bode Ogunmola.

In Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal Dare emerged as the governorship candidate of the party for the 2023 election.

Dare, a former Executive Director of First Bank, who controlled operations of the bank in the north, defeated three other governorship aspirants to win the PDP governorship primary election of the party with a wide margin.

Announcing the result, the chairman of the PDP governorship primary election panel in the state, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, said the election was smooth without any rancour.

He announced that Alhaji Hafiz Usman Nahuche got no vote; Engr Ibrahim Shehu Gusau got five votes; Alh. Wadatau Madawaki scored three votes while Dauda Lawal Dare scored 431 votes to become the party’s governorship candidate in the state.

He also commended the PDP delegates for decorum and peaceful conduct of the election.

In a statement, the state PDP Chairman, Col. Bala Mande (retired), commended the committee, saying that the process was apt and it ended successfully.

Similarly, in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Jajari clinched the ticket of the party for the 2023 general election.

Jajari polled 487 votes to defeat Mohammed Imam who polled 362 in the
the primary election held on Wednesday in Borno State.

Announcing the results, Abdulrahman Bobboi, the Chairman of the Governorship Primary Committee for Borno state, declared Jajari as the winner of the primaries having scored 487 votes.

Bobboi said that the total votes cast in the election were 849 votes.

Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central during the 8th National Assembly, has failed to secure the party’s ticket to run for the governorship election in the State.

In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, the former aspirant congratulated the winner, Isah Ashiru, a former House of Representatives member.

He wrote, “The Kaduna PDP Governorship primaries have been concluded. I lost and Honourable Isah Ashiru won.

“I wish to congratulate him. Two Delegates voted for me without giving them a dime; unfortunately, I don’t know who they are so that I can appreciate these clean votes. We look forward”.
