More than 50,100 refugees have returned to Nagorno-Karabakh since the beginning of the Russian peacekeeping operation, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.
“Overall, 50,116 refugees have already returned to Nagorno-Karabakh to their places of permanent residence,” the ministry said.
A Russian peacekeeping detachment is stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh to conduct round-the-clock monitoring from 23 observation posts, and aid the return of refugees.
The troops would also provide humanitarian assistance following the Nov. 9 ceasefire agreement signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
