Senegal Book Second Consecutive AFCON Final, Defeat Burkina Faso

The Teranga Lions of Senegal have qualified for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON after beating Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday.

Inspired by Sadio Mane, Senegal will feature in their second consecutive AFCON final having played in the 2019 edition where they lost by a lone goal to Algeria.

Aliou Cisse’s men saw off the Stallions’ challenge to book a place in Sunday’s showdown at the Limbe StadiumSecond-half goals from Abdou Diallo, Bamba Dieng and Sadio Mane powered the Teranga Lions past their West African rivals at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

Senegal qualifying to the final was well deserved, conceding just twice while breaching the defence of their opposition nine times.

They will now await the winner of the other Semi-final clash between Egypt and host country, Cameroon.
